||HIPAA New Final Omnibus Rule: Key Implications for Your Organization
||Abstract:This session explores the details of the HIPAA Omnibus Final Rule, recently released by Health and Humans Services' Office for Civil Rights (OCR), which codifies changes to:
- The HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Enforcement Rules to implement statutory requirements of the HITECH Act;
- The rule governing patient notification in cases of data breach; and
- The HIPAA Privacy Rule as required by the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.
In addition, this session will explore certain other modifications that OCR has included to improve the workability and effectiveness of the rules, and their impact on covered entities.
