Event Overview

Improvements in the revenue cycle can have an immediate impact on the bottom line. Enabling electronic billing and payment by payers and patients, improving the pre-registration process, reducing claims denials and other similar functions helps to ensure that revenues are earned and recorded more efficiently and are converted to payment more quickly. This Virtual Briefing will focus on best practices to improve the Revenue Cycle Management process ultimately leading to an increase in patient satisfaction and access and the overall efficiency of the revenue cycle management life cycle.

Time Session
11AM-11:30AM CT Building a Financial Foundation for the Future (Sponsored Session)
Abstract: For the past few years, the technological focus in healthcare has been on clinical systems—electronic health records and achieving meaningful use. With all the recent mandates and changes, now is the perfect time to focus on the financial side of operations.  Accountable care, bundled payments, and “value-based” reimbursement will require an entirely different business model than the one that most hospitals are accustomed to. To be successful in this new era, a different type of revenue cycle solution must be considered.  This session, will look at three critical components that will soon become required for a successful operation of the business side of healthcare.

Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss why the future will require different thinking around revenue cycle
  • Define critical components that might help to handle future requirements
  • Explore the importance of being proactive and open
